Joan y yo somos las mejores amigas. Tomamos el té hace unos días y me envió unas flores preciosas cuando llegué a Londres. Estamos muy unidas. La gente siempre intenta enfrentarnos... Porque las dos tenemos éxito. Pero somos muy diferentes. Joan es increíblemente social y extravagante y le encanta vestirse bien. Yo soy mucho más discreta y menos propensa a salir a comer y cenar. A ella le encanta salir, y a mí me encanta estar en casa, escribiendo.

Joan and I are the best of friends. We had tea a few days ago and she sent me beautiful flowers when I arrived in London. We’re very close. People are always trying to pitch us against each other … Because we’re both successful. But we’re very different. Joan is incredibly social and flamboyant and she loves to dress up. I’m much more low key and much less likely to go out for lunches and dinners. She loves being out and about, and I love being home, writing.
